World Poker Tour coming to Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Casino

Season XIV of the World Poker Tour will be coming to the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Hotel and Casino this March and April as the poker tour begins its Showdown series. The first tour stop in Florida will be the $3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship followed by the $10,000 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale. Both will offer a $2 million guaranteed prize pool and will be the finale of the tour, which takes place for one year.

The Showdown Championship will run from the 15th to the 20th of April while the Finale will take place from the 17th to the 21st. also taking part during the showdown will be the Seminole Hard Rock Poker High Roller event which has a buy-in of $25,500 with a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. On the 22nd to the 24th of April, the WPT will host the Tournament of Champions which will have a $15,000 buy-in and will be exclusively for the Season XIV champions and the members of the WPT Champions Club.

Seminole Gaming director of poker marketing, Jason Newman, stated that the addition of the $10,000 buy-in for the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale has allowed the casino to take the series a step further and offer the $25,500 High Roller event with the $1 million guaranteed which will cater to some of the best pros in the business as well as wealthy amateurs.

On the 31st of March, the first events will start with the $350 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em event, with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The same day, the Turbo Mega Satellite will take place, offering two seats to the Showdown guaranteed, with only a $90 buy-in.

Also on the schedule is a charity poker tournament which will be presented in partnership with the WPT Foundation and the Hard Rock. Taking place on the 13th of April, the tournament proceeds will go towards the Jason Taylor Foundation, a group that was created by the Miami Dolphins’ Hall of Famer and works to help local children with education and health care.
